Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Cara Tatterton Pilates!  I offer mat-based, small group, Pilates classes for both beginners and improvers (aged 18 or over).

Classes may be split into beginners and improver classes; or, alternatively, mixed ability classes may be run.  Within mixed ability classes, modifications/alternatives will be provided to enable all class participants to work at the level that is appropriate for each individual’s ability.

From time to time, I will also offer short courses aimed at instructing beginners or those wishing to find out more about Pilates and Pelvic Floor Health.

Class Timetable

Classes are run in blocks, usually consisting of 6-7 weeks per block (although this may vary depending on school term times).  Exact dates for the subsequent block will be given out towards the end of the existing block.

Missed Classes

Sometimes you may be unable to make a class within a block because of illness, holidays or other reasons.  I want you to have the best value for money experience.  Therefore, for my matwork classes only, I offer a ‘replacement class’ system to try and avoid you having to lose your Pilates class.

Note:

  • I am unable to guarantee that you will be able to attend a replacement class, as this depends on spaces available in other classes and your own availability.
  • Missed classes cannot be used as payment towards the cost of a subsequent block.
  • Please ensure that you give 24 hours’ notice of the class that you will miss (with the exception of sudden illness and emergencies of course).
  • You can take replacement classes at any time (before as well as after your missed class) up to the end of the summer block (end August.) Replacement classes not taken by then will be lost.

Please note that for this system to work, it is important to notify me of an absence, even if you don’t want a replacement class to ensure your slot is available for someone else to use.

Course Timetable

The length of a course may vary between 6-12 weeks.  Exact dates will be given prior to the start of the course.

If you are unable to attend a session, during the course, you will have the opportunity to access pre-recorded elements of the session to help you to catch up on any missed content.  Please note pre-recorded content may be available for a limited time only.

Fees and Payment

Full payment for each full block is required in advance (i.e. before the end of term prior to the new block), to secure a place.

Course fees must be paid in advance of the start of a course.

Full payment is required even if you are unable to attend all the scheduled classes within a block or a course.  Refunds are not available once the block of classes, or course has started.

It is not possible to share/transfer attendance of a block or course with/to another person.

Holding Fee (for class blocks)

If you unable to sign up for a block of classes, it is not possible for me to hold your space in class for the next block free of charge.

If you wish to save your space for a subsequent block, then I offer the opportunity to hold your space in class at the cost of 50% of the cost of the full block.  You can use this system for up to three subsequent blocks.

I fully understand that this option is not right for everyone, and if you do not wish to take advantage of this system, there is no problem; however, your space will be offered to other clients on the waiting list.

Cover Instructors and Cancellation of Classes

Should I be unable to run a class or course session, due to circumstances beyond my control, then I will attempt to contact you by text, phone or email, using the details provided on the Health Screening Questionnaire.  In such circumstances:

Classes may be run by a cover instructor, or may be run on-line via Zoom, but if I am unable – or do not feel it appropriate – to arrange this, then the class will either be rescheduled or cancelled.

If you are unable to make a rescheduled class, you can of course use the ‘Replacement Class’ system to make up for the class you have missed (subject to availability).

If I cancel a class, the class fee will be credited against your payment for the subsequent block.

If you are unable to attend a rescheduled session as part of a course, you will be able to access pre-recorded elements of the session to help you to catch up on any missed content.  Please not pre-recorded content may be available for a limited time only.

Free taster class terms and conditions

A pre-exercise medical questionnaire must be completed before taking part in the Free Taster Class.

If you do not attend your booked Free Taster Class, then I may be unable to offer you an alternative taster class and your space may be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

I reserve the right to remove or cancel the Free Taster Class offer at any time.

Expectations in Class

I always hope that after participating in my class, clients feel better in themselves when they leave class, than when they came in.  As such, all class participants must be respectful of other’s abilities and personal space when in the class. In the event of unacceptable behaviour, I reserve the right to ask you to leave the class or course immediately, and no refund will be given.

Photo release

You understand that photographs may be taken during classes for promotional purposes (website, leaflets or social media), and that you can request not to be included in any photographs.
